In November 2008 when it was released, L4D has proven to be one of the biggest hits for Valve since Counter-Strike Source game servers, eclipsing TF2 game servers in the popularity contests.
There are two main types of gameplay for Left 4 Dead game servers. One where you work with a team and other people online – campaign based. The most popular online mode is versus mode, where teams split into two teams of four- survivors and zombies. Survivors take on the roll of complete the L4D campaigns. On the other team, the Zombies controlled by human player’s mission is to hunt down the survivors using the Tank, Smoker, Hunter and Boomer.
Other than the human zombies, computer controlled infected also attack humans. They are most like the zombies off the movie 28 Days Later, but don’t let this lull you in to a false sense of security as their strength lies in numbers and can be found in coupes of several dozen and known as hordes. They can climb ladders and scale objects with relative ease and break through walls and doors and like to be attracted to flash lights and loud noises like car alarms and gun fire.
We then move on to the uncommon infected which you will meet less often by strategically placed throughout the game to keep you and your buddies on your toes.
As long as you don’t get too close, or point your flashlight at her, the witch can be passive and avoided. She can be disturbed by accident as she tends to lurk off the normal map route.
We also have the playable infected which can be played in versus mode. The vommit of the boomer is enough to temporarily blind you, and attracts the horde. Therefore you keep away from the Boomer and his nasty bile.A skilled marksman would pick him off from distance as he is slow and has low health, Do be aware any nearby survivors will be covered in his bile.
In terms of speed, the hunter is like the fast zombies on HL2. Looking more like a chav than a zombie in terms of appearance! Quick and agile, he can scale a wall with ease. Like a cat he can pounce and pin down survivors, clawing at their abdomen until either the survivor is dead or been knocked off by another survivor. They also don’t have much health and so don’t take much to take down.
The sneaky smoker ambushes his victims with his long tongue. These work like the barnacles in half-life did and so will need the assistance of another survivor to free you. They also emit a smoke to impair the vision and voice of their victim to make it harder for them to escape. They will cough frequently to let you know of their presence in an area.
It would be wise to master the Tank before you move onto Left 4 Dead 2 game servers. You need to play Left 4 Dead 2 to understand the immense power of the Tank!
